About Us
Here at the Koerner Family Foundation, we are working to inspire future generations of research oriented engineers. We encourage them to earn doctoral degrees in Engineering and then to stay in the United States. We believe that the competitiveness of the United States depends on having intelligent people finding innovative solutions to future challenges. The primary purpose of the Koerner Family Foundation is to help the United States train and retain engineers in order to remain globally competitive in all types of engineering.
What We Do
Each year, we provide graduate fellowships in the various disciplines of engineering to selected universities. The students must be citizens of the United States (either native born or naturalized), have successfully passed their candidacy exams leading to a doctoral degree and express an interest in a research career within academia, industry or government in the United States. Please press the "Fellows" tab to glimpse the fellows supported since the program began in 2001.
